Pickled Strawberries

Ingredients:
Strawberries, halved
1 cup water
1 cup white balsamic vinegar
¼ cup sugar
1 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon black peppercorns
Fresh basil
Steps
In a medium saucepan combine the water, vinegar, sugar, salt, black peppercorns, and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and set aside until cool.
Add strawberries and fresh basil to a ball jar.
Pour cooled pickling liquid over the strawberries, secure the lid, and shake gently to incorporate.
Refrigerate 2 hours to overnight before serving. Store in the refrigerator for up to one week.
